“Review my credit card transactions for the last three months.”
Use connected transactions to explore recurring charges and category trends.
Connect AI assistants to banking, utility and other personal accounts through Model Context Protocol. Sophtron MCP brings user-authorized account context into your agent’s workflow.
Connect through an MCP client that supports remote servers and Sophtron’s OAuth flow.
Sophtron Data Connection MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that connects compatible AI assistants to a user’s linked financial and personal accounts. It provides account context for tasks such as reviewing transactions, checking bills and understanding holdings, through Sophtron’s OAuth-based connection flow.
Your agent can reason about the user’s connected account information instead of relying only on pasted statements or general knowledge. These are example prompts, not automatic scheduled services.
“Review my credit card transactions for the last three months.”
Use connected transactions to explore recurring charges and category trends.
“Which of my utility bills are due soon?”
Bring available account balances and bill due dates into the conversation.
“Show me the holdings in my connected investment accounts.”
Retrieve portfolio context for a user-directed review.
“Help me understand the information in my connected accounts.”
Extend the assistant’s context beyond a single bank feed, subject to available tools and coverage.
Use an MCP client that supports remote servers and the required OAuth flow. Client availability can depend on the product, plan and administrator settings.

Open your client’s MCP or connector settings. Add Sophtron Data Connection MCP using the server URL shown here.
Complete the supported OAuth flow. Do not paste personal-account passwords into the assistant conversation.
Launch Sophtron’s connection widget, select the institution and complete sign-in and any MFA prompts.
Check the server’s exposed tools and linked account coverage. Begin with a read task, such as reviewing recent transactions.
Both routes use Sophtron account connectivity. Pick the interface that fits your application and confirm the capabilities exposed in your environment.
| Integration | When it fits | Where to begin |
|---|---|---|
| Sophtron MCP | An assistant or agent client already supports remote MCP tools. | Add the server URL and complete OAuth. |
| Access & Action API | You are building your own application, account UI or approval experience. | Use the API documentation and linked account capabilities. |
| MCP with custom orchestration | Your agent needs a controlled workflow with selected tools and permissions. | Inspect the server implementation and the client’s tool controls. |
API actions and MCP tools are separate surfaces. Confirm which actions the current MCP server exposes before designing a write workflow.
Account access carries responsibility. Keep the user involved where it matters, with boundaries around credentials and actions.
The account holder connects their own account and grants access. Permissions are scoped and revocable.
Sophtron keeps account credentials isolated from its language models. Use the connection flow for sign-in and MFA.
Critical or irreversible actions require the account holder’s explicit decision. The agent cannot approve for the user.
The remote server URL is https://mcp.sophtron.com/mcp. Sophtron’s published setup uses OAuth for authentication. Use an MCP client that supports this connection flow.
Sophtron publishes setup guidance for ChatGPT and Claude clients with custom remote MCP connections. Availability depends on the client, account plan, supported authentication and administrator settings. Follow the current client documentation when adding a connection.
Model choice and tool connectivity are separate. An application can use Sophtron where its agent framework supports the required remote MCP and OAuth flow. Do not assume a consumer chat app exposes the same integration features as its developer API.
Sophtron’s published MCP describes financial and personal account access, including banking, credit cards, investments and utilities. The data actually available depends on connected accounts, user permission and the tools exposed by the current server.
No. Discover the tools exposed by your server and confirm action support. The Access & Action API has its own capabilities and approval flow; connecting an MCP server alone should not be treated as permission to execute payments.
Use Sophtron’s account connection widget and supported authentication flow. Sophtron keeps account credentials isolated from its language models. Retrieved account data may be made available to the assistant as part of the user-authorized task.
Yes. The published Sophtron MCP implementation is available in the sophtron/chagpt-mcp GitHub repository. Review the current repository for implementation details and available tooling.
Start with the remote MCP connection, then build around the data and tools your users authorize.
